Mr.Jostas is a PHE Champion and public health leader with over 12 years of experience, he established a functional PHE learning site in Kasese, Uganda for the Albertine region, PHE seeks to address the complex connections between humans, their health and economic wellbeing, and the environment, integrated programs are cost-effective and key to achieving sustainable development goals.
As a Public Health Specialist, I have more than 10 years of experience in Population, Health, and Environment. I have championed integrating PHE into national, regional, and global development processes and coordinate more than 200 NGOs/CSOs in East Africa to jointly implement youth programs on integrating environment, economic empowerment, and reproductive health in Uganda, in the Great Lakes region, and Africa at large.
Everyone and everything on our planet is interconnected and I believe we must work together to address the issues that affect us all. As a sexual and reproductive health and rights advocate, I have particular expertise in developing programmes to address women’s unmet need for family planning. I am also passionate about the interconnections between human and ecosystem health and build diverse partnerships to work at this critical intersection.
I have always been passionate about the link between health and environment. Our health and overall wellbeing are dependent on the environment and the ‘health’ of our environment is dependent on us. PHE approaches formulate effective interventions towards ensuring the health of the people and the environment are optimum.
