The third webinar, on October 17 from 3:00-4:30pm EAT, examines innovative financing mechanisms and opportunities to mobilise resources for climate change and health initiatives in Africa.
The USAID-funded Building Capacity for Integrated Family planning (FP) and Reproductive Health (RH) and Population, Environment and Development (PED) Action (BUILD) Project jointly with other stakeholders including the Kenya government, Amref Health Africa and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LHTSM) are running a Webinar Series to galvanise interest and spur policy and programme action around health and climate change. The series, titled “Prioritizing Health in Climate Change Action in Africa” will be conducted around key regional and global climate change events including the Climate Change and Development in Africa (CCDA) Conference, the Africa Climate Action Summit, the Africa Climate Week (ACW) happening in Nairobi in September 2023, and the Conference of the Parties 28 (COP 28) to be held in Dubai in December.
The Webinar Series aim to unite global stakeholders for a dialogue on the intersectionality between health and climate change, focusing on Africa and will consist of three sessions from August to November 2023.
The sessions will engage policymakers, practitioners, researchers, and civil society to foster dialogue and generate actionable insights for effective climate change and health action in Africa.
