The African Institute for Development Policy (AFIDEP) will be participating at the 6th International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP 2022), taking place in Pattaya City, Thailand from 14 to 17 November 2022. Held every other year since 2009, ICFP serves as a platform for the global family planning/reproductive health community to share best practices, celebrate successes, and chart a course toward universal access to family planning (FP).
The theme for the 2022 conference is “Family Planning & Universal Health Coverage”, which underscores the critical role that family planning plays in achieving universal health coverage. This is driven by the global quest to ensure universal access to sexual and reproductive healthcare services, including family planning, information, and education, and the integration of reproductive health into national strategies and programs by 2030 as outlined in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
ICFP 2022 will provide an opportunity for political leaders, scientists, researchers, policymakers, advocates, and youth to disseminate knowledge, celebrate successes, and identify the next steps toward reaching the goal of enabling more women to access voluntary, quality contraception.
AFIDEP is collaborating with its partners in making presentations in a number of sessions.
Key projects that will be participating at ICFP 2022 include the Building Capacity for Integrated Family Planning and Reproductive Health (RH) and Population, Environment and Development (PED) Action (BUILD) project, Re-examining Traditional Method Use: Desperation or Innovation (TEAM-UP) project and the Back-on-Track Project.
